The President of the Constitutional Court has resigned

The Constitutional Court informs about Mr Tudor Panţîru,s resignation on his own motion from the position of President and judge of the Constitutional Court, filed on the grounds of Article 14.4 of the Law on the Constitutional Court no. 317-XIII of 13 December 1994.

Thus, starting from 1 February 2018 until the election of the new President of the Court, pursuant to Article 7.5 of the Law on the Constitutional Court, the functions of the President will be exercised by Mr Aurel Băieşu, judge of the Constitutional Court.

Mr Tudor Panţîru was appointed Judge of the Constitutional Court by the Decision no. 130/6 of 12 February 2013 of the Superior Council of Magistracy. On 12 May 2017, by the vote of judges, Mr Tudor Panţîru was elected President of the Constitutional Court.
