External RelationsThe efficiency of the Court activity is largely determined by the relationship established with constitutional courts of European states, with institutions of law and international organizations, including the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), UNDP Moldova, OSCE Mission in Moldova), the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), Konrad Adenauer and Hanns Seidel foundations, ABA ROLI Moldova As key milestones in the evolution of the external relations of the Court, particularly on the legal dimension, constitute international organizations in the field of constitutional law. At the top of the list is the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) of the Council of Europe, which provides strong support for the Court, since 1996. The following year, the Court obtained a full membership status in the Association of Constitutional Courts using the French language (ACCPUF), and in 2000 it became a member of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts (CECC), subsequently - of the Black Sea Regional Conference of Constitutional Courts and of the Conference of Constitutional Review in New Democracies. In 2011 and 2014, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova has become an institutional member of the World Conference of Constitutional Justice (WCCJ) and the International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL). In October 2015, the Constitutional Court of Moldova has initiated, together with the Constitutional Court of Lithuania, the establishment of the Association of Constitutional Justice of the Countries of the Baltic and Black Sea Regions. This Association opens a new level of regional cooperation between constitutional courts. The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova is to hold the presidency of the Association in 2016. |
