Today, on 23 February 2023, the Constitutional Court marks its 28th anniversary.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the Constitutional Court was visited by a group of law students from the State University of Moldova and held an event dedicated to its role in the 28 years since its foundation. The President of the Constitutional Court had a welcome message highlighting the importance and the role of the Court and the significant achievements throughout the entire period of its activity. With an anniversary message came Mrs Diana Sârcu, judge to the European Court of Human Rights, followed by the Vice-chancellor of the State University of Moldova, Mrs Otilia Dandara, and the Dean of the Law Faculty, Mr Sergiu Brînza.
Mr Nicolae Roșca, judge at the Constitutional Court, approached the topic of the evolution of the Constitutional Court in its 28 years of activity. A student of the Faculty of Law, Ms Evelina Descalui, presented an essay on the role of the Constitutional Court in a state governed by the rule of law from the younger generation’s perspective.
At the same time, on this occasion, a Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Constitutional Court and the State University of Moldova, for the purpose of supporting future lawyers with their education in the law field, as well as developing cooperation methods between the institutions, that will be mutually beneficial for the legal research.
