2017 Visit to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of LithuaniaOn 4-7 April 2017, the EU-funded Project “Support to the Constitutional Court of Moldova” organised the information visit for the judges and the staff of the CCM to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania. During the three working days in Vilnius, the delegation held meetings with the President of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania, Heads of Divisions and judges of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania and discussed the most important court decisions regarding the development of the constitutional doctrine of human rights. The delegation was particularly interested in the problems of admissibility of applications coming from ordinary courts and the organisational system of the Constitutional Court. On 5 April, the delegation visited the District Court of Druskininkai city and held fruitful meetings with the judges of the court. During discussions the issues of the implementation process of court system reform in Lithuania and of the online court cases operational system were addressed. The meetings with the Speaker of the Seimas (Parliament), members of the Committee on Legal Affairs of the Seimas, the President and judges of the Supreme Court, and the representatives of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania were also organised. The discussions and exchange of views focused on different jurisprudential aspects, in particular on the recent jurisprudence of the ECJ and ECtHR regarding the Republic of Lithuania. The visit was envisaged by the work plan of the EU-funded project “Support to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova”.
