EU-funded project “Support to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova” looks for local non-key expert

In February 2016, a consortium led by the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) and comprising the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania and the School of German Law at Warsaw University as members, started its engagement under the Terms of Reference of the “Support to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova” project (EuropeAid/136903/DH/SER/MD). The project is developed within the provisions of the “Justice Sector Reform Strategy 2011-2016 (JSRS)”. The overall objective of the project is to accelerate the sustainable reform of the justice sector in Moldova and to ensure the rule of law by strengthening the Constitutional Court.

 

The purpose of the activities under Component 3 of the project’s workplan is to ensure more effective communication with the relevant target groups, in particular by raising the public awareness of the CCM and its competences as a central state authority supervising and safeguarding the constitutional order, human rights and the rule of law in the Republic of Moldova. To this end, the project has supported the elaboration and adoption of the CCM Communication strategy and its Action Plan. The said documents, in line with the project’s initial workplan, envisage the organisation of different activities and events that would be instrumental in achieving the abovementioned objectives.

 

Hence, the project supports the foundation of the Summer School by the Constitutional Court of Moldova, which will aim at empowering students of law faculties from all over the Republic of Moldova and at a later stage young, professional lawyers, in skills and knowledge in the Constitutional and Human Rights Law.

To implement this activity, EU-funded project “Support to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova” is looking for local non-key expert to be engaged in month of June 2017 for 4 working days.

Qualifications of the expert:

  • University degree in law or relevant field of studies;
  • At least 12 years of working experience in working with the judicial institution or in the field of human rights in the EU or CoE member states;
  • Experience in lecturing at the high education institutions;
  • Previous experience in organising and/or participating in the summer school would be an advantage.

Other skills:

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Romanian is an asset;
  • Excellent analytical and communications skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and without direct supervision;
  • Excellent team-work skills.
