The Winners of the Contest “The Best Constitutional Journalist 2016” Have Been Selected

The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova (CCM) in cooperation with the EU project “Support to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova” have selected the winners of the contest “The Best Constitutional Journalist 2016”: Ana Bejenaru - reporter at Moldova 1 national TV channel and Ileana Pîrgaru - reporter at TVR Moldova.

The award ceremony will be held at the premises of CCM on 29 May 2017, in the presence of the President of CCM, members of the EU project team and high-level international experts invited to the event.

The participants of the contest were assessed on the basis of the submitted applications, which included topics related to CCM activity reflected in the media by the candidates. The criteria for the selection of the winners included the actuality of the topic, the element of novelty, originality, the added value for society, the conformity with the requirements of Code of Journalism Deontology, as well as the presence at CCM sittings and events. Another important criterion was the media coverage of the material.

The purpose of the contest is to raise awareness of the Moldovan society and the media on the mandate and activity of the Constitutional Court of Moldova.
