Meeting with Mr. Thomas Markert, Secretary of the Venice Commission

On 8 November 2016, during the visit of the official delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova to the Council of Europe, the justices of the Court met with Mr Thomas MARKERT, the Secretary of the European Commission for Democracy through Law of the Council of Europe (Venice Commission) and staff members of the Venice Commission.

In the course of discussions were approached aspects of the recent constitutional case law of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova and its impact on the evolution of the regulatory framework.

The President of the Constitutional Court, Mr Alexandru Tănase underscored the contribution of unquestionable value of the European Commission for Democracy through Law of the Council of Europe (Venice Commission) offered to the Constitutional Court and was grateful for the support provided in the elaboration of multiple amicus curiae requested by the Constitutional Court.

The visit constituted one of the activities carried out with the support of the EU Project „Support for the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova."
